Green is Good

At AMES, we love growing things as much as you do. That’s why we’re committed to using sustainable practices in every phase of our business. From monitoring water use to measuring carbon output, we carefully track the environmental impact of our work and continually strive to improve it. Because good corporate stewardship means more green for all of us—more trees, cleaner water, healthier communities and healthier families.

Appalachian Hardwood Verified Sustainable

AMES is proud of its long-standing environmental stewardship, and one example can be seen in our wood handle production. These handles are produced by our wood mills that are located in a specific region of the Appalachian Mountains distinguished as “verified sustainable” using US Forestry Service data. In that region, forests naturally replenish at a rate of 2.29 trees for every tree harvested, which occurs without manual replanting efforts or chemical applications.

PPL Electric Utilities Honor Roll

AMES has recently been recognized by PPL Electric Utilities for our Energy Efficient efforts. These efforts include: relamping manufacturing area with T8 fixtures, participating in Demand Response Programs, and installing VFDs on plastic injection molding hydraulic pumps. To view the full honor roll, click here: PPL Electric Utilities Honor Roll.
