Did you know that this week is National Garden Week? Our friends at the National Garden Clubs, Inc. started this week as a way to promote community involvement through the 3 main areas they cultivate:
- Beautification
- Education of Environmental Efforts
- Gardening
The National Garden Clubs (NGC) has a variety of ideas on how you can celebrate this week with your community, click here to learn more about this week.
This year we’re continuing our partnership with the NGC through our Tool Grant program. At the beginning of this year, garden clubs that belong to the NGC had the opportunity to apply for an AMES tool grant based on specific projects they will be working on to help their communities this year. The tool grant awardees were recently decided and we will be highlighting each awarded club and their project on our AMES Facebook page.
Last month we were also able to attend the annual NGC convention held in Biloxi, Mississippi. At the convention, we met NGC members from all over the country and learned about some of the great projects that have been accomplished with our previous tool grants.
We enjoy our partnership with the NGC and admire the hard work they contribute each day to improving their communities throughout the country and for keeping gardening going strong.
Keep checking our AMES Facebook page to learn more about the various projects being accomplished by NGC clubs with their AMES tool grant.
